I just got this email from a patient.
I wonder why they even bother to do the tests if they are going to "treat " the patient with antiTB medicines, irrespective of the results of the tests ! This is why they orders lots of tests mindlessly, with the hope that at least one of them will be positive, and will confirm their "clinical suspicion !"
" Beaded tubes" are completely normal, and a hardly a reason to put a healthy young infertile woman on antiTB meds. These are toxic , and the misuse of antiTB medicines encourages the spread of drug -resistant TB in this country.
3 different tests of TB negative , still my doctor suspects TB bcoz my tubes showed beaded in lapro.I feel sorry for Indian patients. Some IVF specialists seem to think that all infertile women have "latent" TB, and put practically everyone who comes to them on anti-TB drugs.
