Doctor, patients connect through web portal: " Canada's first interactive patient health portal was launched in Vancouver yesterday, connecting doctors and patients over the Internet.
The Canadian Medical Association portal, called mydoctor.ca, allows patients to input their health information for the doctor to monitor.
'It is, in fact, an extension of the doctor's care, and the doctor's office,' said CMA's Larry Mohr, who designed the $2-million system.
The portal currently can track asthma, blood pressure and obesity. It will be expanded to include diabetes, smoking, mental health, prescription renewals -- even 'doctor e-visits.'"
Indian web portal meraMD.com sounds so similar to mydoctor.ca. Thanks for this post otherwise we would have missed this launch!
