Most of us patients would be thrilled to have pictures along with the doc's explanations. After I came awake after emergency hip surgery and asked the surgeon, when he came into the room, what he did, he went to a blackboard in the room and drew a picture of the bones and the pins and plate he'd attached to them. I was still woozy from anesthesia and pain meds but I could easily see what he'd done in surgery, and had it still to look at off and on. He said in simple language that there'd been no complications with the surgery. I was terrifically grateful to him for the drawing.
