Thanks to our website , I get queries from infertile couples from all over the world. A common question is - How can I make sure I choose a good IVF clinic in my part of the world ? This is an extremely important question because selecting a good clinic can make all the difference between success and failure. Some countries like the US and UK have league tables where clinics report their success rates - and since most of these clinics have their own websites, it's often easier for the patient to compare clinics. However, in many parts of the world, this kind of centralized reporting does not exist and patients have to fend for themselves in their quest for a good IVF clinic.
I tell my patients to interview at least two IVF clinics and to ask the doctor just one simple question – do you provide photos of my embryos ? The key skill of an IVF clinic is to produce good-quality embryos, and a good IVF clinic is proud of the fact that they can do so consistently. They're happy to document all the embryos they create ; and to provide photos of these to their patients. This is tangible evidence that they provide high quality medical care. However, if an IVF clinic is reluctant to give you photos of your embryo is, or refuses to do so , you should worry a lot !
