Bleeding during IVF

One of the most difficult things IVF patients have to deal with is the fact that there are no external symptoms or signs of what’s happening inside their bodies. Are the follicles growing well ? Is the uterine lining maturing properly ? Are you responding well to the medications ? Are the eggs of good quality ? Are the embryos implanting ?

An important marker of the reproductive cycle is bleeding – and this can become a major source of stress during an IVF cycle !

Hello, thanks for the information. Should I panic though, if I have been bleeding for about 13 days now? I started the stimulation stage of my IVF cycle 3 days ago.

If there is no bleeding does it actually mean that it worked. I'm wondering if I haven't had a single drop of blood does that mean that implantation occurred ans embryo was not expelled?

  3. No, the absence of bleeding after your embryo transfer does not mean that the IVF has worked or that the embryos have implanted, sorry

Do a blood test for HCG to find out if you are pregnant.

    Best of luck !

  4. Thank You for this blog!!
    2 fresh failed cycles- 5dt
    1 frozen failed- 5dt

I have severe endo. My hubby is healthy. Our eggs ALL fertilize on their own & things go great but at each transfer my doc has had to cut my cervix to get the catheter in. This past time he cute twice & had to send the awaiting embryologist back to the lab

  5. I should add that I am 29 y/o and have carried 1 baby, conceived natural when I was 22. My son a healthy boy carried to term.

  6. Dear Nathan,

This suggests you may have cervical stenosis.

Are your tubes open ? One option is to do a ZIFT. Read more at
