The 2ww is a " no woman's "land for most IVF patients.
You know the embryo is inside your uterus, but you don't know if it's going to implant or not.
Many patients think of themselves as being "partially pregnant" - and they know this makes no rational sense at all.
They obsess night and day about what's happening to their embies - and are petrified that they may do something to harm them.
Most can't wait for the result of the HCG blood test result, and will start doing HPTs as home - sometimes as soon a 3 days after the transfer.
They then drive themselves sick with worry, and their husbands crazy with their questions, while trying to interpret the results. Is it a positive line ? Or are you imagining it ? Is it becoming darker ? Was the stick too old ? Did you test too early ? If it was positive and then became negative, was this a chemical pregnancy ? Should they get one of the new digital ones ?
A picture is worth a 1000 words, and the one above says it all !
