Prescribing humour
As an infertility specialist, I understand how difficult it is for my patients to cope with the stress of infertility. I have found that a sense of humour helps people cope with stress much better, which is why I advise my patients to watch a film, called Maybe Baby. This is a romantic comedy, which describes the travails an infertile couple goes through in their quest for a baby. I know it's unusual for a doctor to "prescribe " that his patients watch a film, but I have found that watching the film helps infertile couples to relate to each other . They can empathise with the couple in the film - and can also understand each other's feelings far better !
