Some people never learn. Stephen Barrett (quackwatch.com) seems to be one of those.
Despite loss after loss, and humiliation on top of humiliation, self styled "quackbuster" Stephen Barrett trudges on to the next embarrassment.
Like a bug in the fast lane, Barrett is doomed to be wiped off the windshield of the North American Health Freedom Movement time after time, I guess. ............... (read the rest of the letter at the website).

This "Millions of Health Freedom Fighters - Newsletter" is about the battle between "Health and Medicine" on Planet Earth. Tim Bolen is an op/ed writer with extensive knowledge of the activities of a subversive organization calling itself the "quackbusters," and that organization's attempts to suppress, and discredit, any, and all health modalities that compete with the allopathic (MD) paradigm for consumer health dollars. The focus of the newsletter is on the ongoing activities, battles, politics, and the victories won by members of the "Health Freedom Movement" against the "quackbusters" It details "who the quackbusters are, what they are, where they are operating, when they appear, and how they operate - and how easy it is to beat them..."

Quackwatch has been proved wrong once again. Homeopathy, the prime "quack medicine" that Quackwatch regularly targets is found to show better results than modern medicine, says a study.
News Telegraph of July 24Th has this to report;
Homeopathy wins in test with medicine By Robert Matthews (Filed: 24/07/2005)
Homeopathy has been proved more successful and cost-effective than conventional medicine in the first comparison of the two approaches.
Proof of its effectiveness has emerged from an extensive study of its use in treating chronic disorders such as back pain. The study ignored the question of how homeopathy might work and focused on how well it performs.
Researchers in Germany recruited more than 400 adults and children with long-term health problems ranging from sinusitis to insomnia and depression. Half were treated using conventional therapy; the other half were treated homeopathically. After six months, the condition of the patients treated homeopathically had improved significantly more, and more quickly, than the others while the cost for each was similar.
Barrett is a pseudo-scientific debunker. He had to lie about himself and his own credentials to have some credibility: http://www.canlyme.com/quackwatch.html http://www.healthfreedomlaw.com/ http://www.quackpotwatch.org/
