How do I cope with IVF failure ?

While a patient can still manage her own heartache, the trouble is that she always feels she's let everyone else down  and all the money, time, and energy which was spent on the expensive treatment has gone down the drain.
This is why it's so important that patients have realistic expectations before starting IVF treatment.
The truth is that most IVF cycles are going to fail, and this is just the way human reproductive biology is designed.  Since most natural attempts at getting pregnant fail in the bedroom, why should IVF be any different?
The problem is that patients pin all their hopes and dreams on a single cycle, and when this doesn't work, they find it very hard to bounce back.
This is why you need to remember that IVF will often require more than one attempt and patients should think in terms of cumulative conception rates over three or four cycles, rather than just a single cycle.
Otherwise the danger is that they may give up too soon, just because one cycle has failed, and they will lose their best chance of being able to have a baby. This is actually what the real tragedy would be!

What to find an IVF clinic which respects your time and intelligence ?
