How Avaz helps disabled kids to communicate

One of the startups I am proudest of having invested in is Avaz, which creates an app for autistic children.

Ajit was featured in the Times of India.

Dr Aniruddha Malpani, lead investor from TMA, was swept away by Narayanan's passion. "He is proactive and always has an alternative plan. With Avaz creating a meaningful change in the lives of children, he has been able to create a winning combination of human capital, financial resources and social impact," he says.

Avaz helps parents with conversation ideas and strategies to introduce activities of daily living. Using games, animation and colour coding, the app helps children learn and recall better. Parents can also keep track of the communication development of the child through graphs and charts.

In October, Narayanan launched Avaz Live, an option to video conference with speech therapists globally.Narayanan's mission is to break barriers in communication and empower people.

"One of the students who participated in the pilot project is now in college and will soon be looking for a job. We see disabled children using our device and participating in their annual day show without voice-overs. The look on a parent's face when she sees their child communicate is priceless," says Narayanan.
