Will IVF give me twins?

One of the concerns which lots of people have is that the risk of a twin or triplet pregnancy is increased after IVF.
This can be a cause for worry because lots of people are anxious about their ability to be able to bring up two babies at a time.
It's not just the financial expense that bringing up two babies causes - it's also the social burden, as well as the increased risk of medical problems with twins .
In the past, it is true that this risk was increased, because lots of doctors would transfer more than one embryo . Sadly, many doctors continue to do this in order to inflate their pregnancy rates, and this is what causes twins or triplets after IVF .
This is an iatrogenic complication , because these doctors aren't confident about their skills.
Good IVF clinics will only transfer one embryo at a time, and this should be a top quality blastocyst.
This means their patients will have only a singleton pregnancy, and their chances of having a twin or a triplet pregnancy is not increased.
If you want to remain in control , please tell your doctor that you do not want a twin pregnancy, and want him to transfer only a single embryo.

What to find an IVF clinic which respects your time and intelligence ?
