After the 'kidney donation' racket in a fashionable 7-star hospital in Mumbai, which made headlines a couple of weeks back, patients trust on doctors has touched its nadir.
Both patients and medical practitioners need to resuscitate from this situation.
The glorious days of the 1950's, 60's and 70's where every family had a 'family doctor' needs to be revived.
The family doctor used to be not only a doctor but an advisor, friend, philosopher and guide to the entire family.
Medical practitioners need to revisit the Hippocrates Oath and society needs to be mature enough to understand the limitations of medical science and drugs.
