Feeling better? Improving patient experience in hospital

Feeling better? Improving patient experience in hospital : "In a new report out this week, Feeling better? Improving patient experience in hospital, the NHS Confederation argues that ensuring patients have a good experience can improve the quality and success rates of care as well as reduce costs.

The report says that well informed patients who feel they are listened too and are comfortable in their surroundings are less likely to develop complications or need readmission. It also cites case studies from the US which suggest that this can also lead to better performance against measures of mortality as well as producing better long-term health prospects for patients."

It's no longer enough for hospitals to just provide high quality medical care - they also need to provide high quality hospitality services, so patients have a pleasant experience when they are in the hospital.
