Limited Health Literacy: "And I think it is ironic that health providers of all kinds, and health educators -- I'm afraid to say -- as well, have used the complexity of their language as a marker of their own sophistication and education. It is far harder to explain something in simple terms than it is to use textbook phrases, and I think that's the objective that we have to move toward, to turn back the responsibility and the definition of doing a good job to one that includes plain speak and ordinary conversations in the delivery of medical care."
