You've got a great doctor - what's next ?

It's not enough to just find a great doctor and then let him do what he wants. You need to become a smart patient as well - and the better you are as a patient, the better your doctor will be ! It's a dance - and your role is as important as the doctor's !

  2. It's a blessing to find a doctor who will listen and doesn't have a huge ego where he or she has to play God. My father had a hemmorhagic stroke 2 years ago. He has also developed a mild atrial fibrillation. The cardiologist that he went to wanted to put him on Warfarin. Warfarin for a person who has had a previous hemmorhagic stroke--idiot!!! When my father suggested to her that this might not be such a good idea because of his medical history, she was very miffed and asked him why he bothered coming to her if he wasn't going to take her advice. Some people shouldn't be allowed to be doctors! I wonder how many people this woman has killed with her lousy medical advice?
